Concrete Paving Has Many Benefits

When you are putting in a new driveway, concrete paving has many benefits over asphalt paving. first of all, it is brighter so that you have a cleaner driveway rather than the basic black. One of the most well known advantages of concrete is that is extremely durable, which is why it is the most favoured method of paving roads all over the world. This means that roads paved with concrete typically last longer. Since the paving process doesnt take as long, there are less delays in traffic when paving the roads.

Concrete pavement is rigid whereas asphalt is flexible. Asphalt moves with the shifts in the ground during seasonal changes which leads to cracks and potholes. Concrete is not as susceptible to changes in weather and temperature. If you want to pave your driveway with asphalt, you will first have to lay a base of gravel and stone and allow it to settle if you dont have the commercial rollers needed to compact it. With concrete, you only need a base subcourse between the main layer and the ground, so you dont have to do as much preparatory work.

Because it is rigid and stiff, concrete tends to distribute the load evenly over the area. In addition, if there are gaps when pouring and smoothing out the concrete they are easy to fill in. Stains are also easier to clean from concrete and you can paint it different colors using paint manufactured just for use on cement. You dont have this option with black asphalt. When heavy trucks drive over concrete, there is less chance of ruts developing. This provides a much smoother surface for a longer period of time
